Nascar & other motorsports
« on: February 15, 2010, 02:31:32 AM »
I figure Nascar needs its own thread because its a big sport in the southeast and its a long season.

I did not see the Daytona 500 but I hear it was interrupted by a pothole. Thankfully it was not as bad as the Indianapolis tyre fiasco. Congratulations to Jame McMurray for the win, nice to see a different name up there. Next weekend they go to California Speedway.

I went to the Australian formula one GP last year but not enough funds for me to do that this year   :(
Yes wolf its good to see 2 champion Brits in the one team. I think Alonso will be strong now that he finally has his butt in a Ferrari.

Quad, are you going to the Nascar race next weekend?  This weekend they are in Las Vegas.

In the Sprint Cup I like to follow three drivers - Sam Hornish Jnr, Juan Pablo Montoya and Marcos Ambrose. None of them have done well in the first two races of the season.

I thought about going but Im gonna pass b/c Im planning a trip up home at the end of March , so Im gonna save my money and watch the Atlanta Spring race on TV ............ Jeff Gordan is still my favorite driver , but Im not expecting too much out of him anymore , (I think his back has been bothering him for awhile now) ....... Out of the top contending drivers I root for Tony Stewart because he's kinda mean LOL

I cannot believe Jimmie Johnson won again Sunday!!  He is so dominant. Having said that Kevin Harvick does lead the points standings and won the Nationwide race so maybe Harvick is the man to challenge the Johnson empire.

Carl Edwards is a bloody idiot. Sure go out and race hard but if a driver is 150 laps down he has no business being on the track let alone what he did yesterday.  >:(
Next race is Bristol and already fans have arrived and set up camp there!!

Wow a lot of damage in the Talledega race yesterday. Jeff Gordon is pissed off at Jimmy Johnson, they also clashed at the previous race.

Not that crazy!  If you think our motorbike and car racers are good, just you wait for the mighty Australian soccer team at the World Cup!!!!  Oh and just back on motorsport its good to see Will Power leading the IndyCar series points.

Congratulations to Chip Ganassi, the first car owner to own the winning Daytona 500 car and the winning Indy 500 car in the same year.  An incredible achievement because both forms of auto racing are very competitive. And thank goodness Mike Conway survived that horrific crash on lap 199 of the Indy 500, he will be back racing in 3 months.
